The Bachelor Programme at the Faculty of Science and Technology (BP FST), Universitas Hasanuddin, requires students to complete a minimum of 144 credits (SKS) as a condition for graduation. The curriculum is designed to develop students’ academic competence, research capability, and professional integrity in their respective fields of study.
In addition to completing the required coursework, students are obligated to undertake a final project (thesis) as part of the graduation requirements. This process consists of two main stages:
1.Proposal Seminar – the presentation and evaluation of the student’s research plan.
2.Final Result Seminar (Thesis Defense) – the presentation and examination of the completed research work.
Successful completion of these requirements demonstrates the student’s ability to apply scientific principles, conduct independent research, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in their discipline.

A Brief Welcome from Head of BP FST UNHAS

The Bachelor Programme in Food Science and Technology at Hasanuddin University (BP FST UNHAS), previously known as the Agricultural Products Technology Program, was established on February 1st, 1983. The name change of the program was based on DIKTI Decision No. 1789/D/T/2009 dated October 5th, 2009. Formerly, BP FST is under the Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University. After July 8th, 2025, based on Hasanuddin University Rector Decree No. 09635/UN4.1/KEP/2025, Department of Agricultural Technology became Faculty of Agricultural Technology and BP FST became one of study program in Faculty of Agricultural Technology. In the future, BP FST UNHAS faces significant challenges in the dynamic and competitive environment of the Industry 4.0 era, particularly in the food industry. To anticipate this, the BP FST at UNHAS maximizes the role of human resources, facilities, and networks in formulating the curriculum and research roadmap.
The BP FST has the vision: “To be one of the leading centers for education, research, and development in food science and technology in Indonesia, supporting the food agroindustry based on cultural values rooted in a maritime-based continent.”
Meanwhile, the mission of BP FST are:
- To produce graduates (bachelor’s degree) who are competent and skilled in the field of food science and technology, have a broad perspective, and possess a strong character while upholding moral and ethical values.
- To conduct educational activities, research, and community service for the development of food science and technology to support the food agroindustry.
Currently, the BP FST UNHAS has 20 permanent faculty members assisted by 4 educational staff. Fifteen faculty members hold doctoral degrees, six of whom hold the rank of Professor, and five others hold master’s degrees. Lectures at the BP FST UNHAS are also supported by four laboratories used for practical work and research.
The BP FST UNHAS has received an A accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) and international accreditation from ASIIN.

Admission

The Bachelor Programme in Food Science and Technology (BPFST) at Hasanuddin University (Unhas) welcomes prospective students with a strong interest in food innovation, safety, and sustainability. The admissions process is designed to select candidates who demonstrate academic excellence, critical thinking, and a commitment to contributing to the food sector.
Admission to the FST Program is conducted through three main pathways:
Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Prestasi (SNBP – National Selection Based on Academic Achievement),
Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Tes (SNBT – National Selection Based on Test Scores), and
the university’s independent admission scheme (Jalur Mandiri – Independent Admission Pathway).
Each pathway has its own requirements and selection criteria that must be fulfilled by applicants.
Prospective students are required to complete the official registration process, submit all necessary documents, and follow the schedule established for each admission pathway. Detailed information regarding eligibility, procedures, and important dates can be accessed through the official SNBP, SNBT, Hasanuddin University admissions portal (Independent Admission Scheme – Jalur Mandiri).

The Bachelor Programme in Food Science and Technology Program (BP FST) at Hasanuddin University provides several digital platforms to support the teaching and learning process. Among the platforms available are SIKOLA (Integrated Online Learning System), which serves as the university’s e-learning platform for accessing course materials, submitting assignments, and participating in online discussions; SIPAKAMASE (Academic Service Information System for Students), which facilitates various academic administrative services; and NEOSIA (Neosia Academic Information System), which is used for managing academic records such as course registration, study plans, and academic transcripts.
